Frequently Asked Questions

Faulty or Incorrect Items Received.

Occasionally we do make mistakes when picking or posting your orders. Rarer, but still a possibillity, are faulty items.

Before returning any faulty or incorrect items, please contact us. We will do our utmost to resolve the issue as quickly and with as little inconvenience to you as possible.

When will my order arrive?

Where possible, your order will be despatched from our warehouse within 48 hours, in fact the vast majority of orders are despatched within 24 hours.

The speed of delivery depends on the postage you have selected and the destination. Please see our postage options page for details.

For the vast majority of orders UK delivery is made within four days of the order date. However, depending on the type of delivery, and the delivery location, it can take up to 15 working days for your order to be delivered (28 days for international delivery).

If your order has been despatched (we send you an email to let you know) but has not yet arrived we ask that you check with your neighbours to see if it has been left with them.

If your order has been sent using a Royal Mail service, we would also appreciate you checking with your local delivery office, in case they have tried to deliver but forgotten to leave a card.

Unfortunately Royal Mail often do not publish their delivery depot telephone numbers, this makes it difficult for us to check with them.

If your parcel has still not arrived after 15 working days please contact us.

Do you resole or repair Celtic boots?

Simply, yes!
The current price for a resole (which is usually necessary if we are replacing panels too) is £29 plus £4.75.

Providing your boots are washable, we ask that you wash and dry them before returning.

Washing Instructions

Celtic footwear is machine washable when indicated. If you are unsure whether your item is washable please contact us.

Wash at 30 degrees or less. We only recommend using our own Celtic Wool Wash on a wool cycle. Once washed, allow to dry naturally, in a warm room away from direct sunlight and direct sources of heat.
It can take some time for your footwear to dry.

Please note that some fading of the sheepskin may occur.

Repairs

We can replace the sheepskin panels on our boots. As the cost for a repair will vary please contact us for details.

Nappa colours

The word nappa after a colour eg. Black Nappa refers to the type of finish that has been applied to the suede side of the sheepskin. It is a clear resin that gives it a shiny finish just like an old WW2 flying jacket. Nappa colours can also be wiped down with a damp cloth to remove some dirt and stains. Cream cleaner is also available on our web site to keep the Nappa shiny and new looking.

Size and fitting instructions

When trying on your footwear for the first time, it may feel very tight across your toes and instep. This is nothing to worry about as it will within an hour or so loosen off as the 3/4 inch long wool starts to bed down and gives your feet more room if they need it. So do not order a size bigger than you usually have otherwise they will end up too big for you.
